    Hello,

Try dvd genie. Also look up the model number for your dvd drive and enter it here:

    Good luck

If your drive is Region locked, you'll need to:

    1) flash the firmware with a region free (RPC-1) version to unlock the drive. http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php

    2) Install a program to let your dvd software player play the different regions, I use DVD Region Killer but there are others. https://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=DVD+Region+Killer&Submit=Search&s=&orderby=N...res=&listuser=

This will allow you to play any region without locking up.

WARNING; Read instructions on firmware flashing and use the correct firmware for your drive, as interupted or incorrect flashing can kill your drive leaving you with an expensive door stop!

    Happy flashing

thanks for the help! I am checking it now. I do not know the manufacturer of my dvd rom drive, as it was pre-installed, it shows up as a generic dvd drive? The drive name etc. is something like jsl-blah blah blah?

If your using Windows XP right click on My Computer click Properties, click Hardware tab, Click Device Manager, then expand DVD/CD-ROM Drives. This will show your drives model name
