Making a back up of your hard drive

Just burn all of your data files to cdr's or dvdr's.

(or get an extra usb harddrive and duplicate it )

Back up your hard drive? There are many different ways. You could do an incremental backup (only adds files that have changed since the last backup), or a drive image which will restore everything, or a straight copy.

Your needs will dictate which one is best for you. But if you want advice we will need more information about what you're backing up, how often, etc.

Then, if I were you, I would burn the important files off to an RW disc (s). If you don't have those, then to an R.

Depends what kind of computer you have. Look at google, they have about 15,000 computers. I can only imagine them backing those up.

An Image will not work for you because it will be an exact duplicate of what you have right now… an acting up Windows ME system (a snapshot of everything you have now).

I strongly advise you backup your data, re format, and install a different OS entirely. ME sucks even worse than WIN98 SE. THEN, get Paragon or Acronis backup ($50.00) software for making backup images. This way, your images will be worth reinstalling. A nice fall-back.
