  1. Is is true that adding a CD cover to CDs will cause the quality to deteriorate? I wouldn't think so, since the players read the bottom side of the disc, but apparently some VCDs that I made for friends have begun to skip and have "noise".

    Any ideas?

I wasn't sure if this was the right forum for this question. Please move it if it's in the wrong forum.

skip and noise maybe caused by scratches on the cd...if the cover was fitted perfectly then there is no problem with your cd cover...

There are long threads about how DVD labels can cause viewing problems with DVDs. I have never heard that they cause a problem with CDs, but I suppose it is possible.

burn speed has also been known to cause "irregular playback" of CDs, be it VCDs or SVCDs.
    If in doubt, Google it.
