as opposed to PowerDVD.
My problem with playback of mpeg-2 interlaced files came down to actually a possibility of installing updated video drivers or because of directx 9.0c
Regardless, I did successfully restore my playback with Power DVD with downgrading my video drivers, and at least I know that PowerDVD works now as interlaced mpeg-2 with wrong field order won't play right, whereas a good one will have nice, stable, very much 3-D like picture (normal, that is).
However, I am not so positive about WinDVD as I know from a while ago (I never paid attention to this) it would never show that the field order is wrong, but I never used force bob as deinterlace method as I always would just leave it on auto. It would always play it right way, then and now, but just now I notice that there is not that much depth in the picture as opposed to Power DVD (very slightly).
Did anyone experience such issue?
My video card is Nvidia (Visiontek) Ge Force 3 Ti 200 from 3 years ago I think. This card originally belonged to my brother and now it's mine as I finally got AGP slot with my new computer (lol I just upgraded to 1.0 Ghz P3).
P.S. upon the installation of directx 9.0c if you still use Windows Media Player 6.4, I THINK in Video Renderer menu you will loose those two boxes that I forgot what are their names (it has something like use YUY, HUV, - they appear as two tabs next to quality (File, Properties, Advanced, Video Renderer, (quality) and other two are gone)).
Well I am not sure but I think also it screwed up my playback of DVDs. So you may want to think about it first before upgrading.
I am using Windows 2000, kind'a forced to because I like VFW drivers for my hauppage card.
