I have several VCD mpeg1 files that I'd like to burn to DVD using Nerovision Express. However, when I tell the program to burn, it ejects the disc and says something about transcoding. Do I need to do something to the files?
They show up as MPEG1 VCD in AVI Codec.
Thanks!

Hi exander,
Get the file details from AVICodec again, and compare them (video and audio) to what's allowed a per the specs (resolution, fps, audio frequency) - see "What Is... DVD" link in the top left of the page. There's a few lines on "DVD-VCD" with a comment "Read more here how to make...".
It may be that your VCDs aren't fully DVD compliant.
There are bound to be plenty of guides to for VCD to DVD, I've seen many threads on it. Have a hunt through those and the forums - you might be missing something out...
Good luck. There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

I'm pretty sure Nerovision Express will re-encode no matter what. You migh tbe better off looking at software like TMPGEnc DVD Author, where you can just drop MPEG-1 files into it, and it will convert the audio only (required no matter what program you use).
If in doubt, Google it.
