First of all, sorry for the long post but I have a really strange problem that I hope someone can help with. I'm trying to add a subtitle stream to a movie and I'm following the guide https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=219535. I've ripped the video and audio as described in the guide and then inserted them into a DVD Lab project, along with the required subtitle set. Originally, when I compiled the project, what I got was video that played a second then paused a second, and so on, right through the whole film and then after this played the video again (without the audio) at what looked like 8 times normal speed! One thing that I noticed looked weird was the length of the m2v stream, because it was showing as approximately 11 hours and 44 minutes - the actual movie length is 1 hour 44 minutes! Strangely, the compiled dvd had a running time double the actual movie length.

Using a combination of ReStream, mpeg2vcr and a TMPGEnc re-encode, I now have a m2v file that shows the correct running time and otherwise seems okay in other aspects. Using this to re-compile now gives me dvd that has perfect audio and subtitles with smooth video - BUT the video is only running at half speed, so the film (ie audio and subtitles) finish precisely half way through the video!

If it helps or makes any difference, the film is in PAL format (and I'm obviously configuring DVD Lab accordingly).

This is really driving me nuts now, I've been trying for ages to successfuly compile this dvd. Hoping someone can offer a little assistance = thanks
