    Hi all,

I've been trying to rip music videos (or specific chapters) off a DVD using DVD Decrypter and SmartRipper. While new VOBs are generated, how can I convert this to AVI/MPG *WITH SOUND*?

The objective is to create my own VCD/DVD of my favourite music videos. But when I used TMPGENC XPRESS to convert VOB to MPG, I realised there is *NO SOUND* (under the cut-edit screen, it says NO AUDIO AVAILABLE). Renaming .vob to .mpg only gives you the illusion this is OK eg. when played with Windows Media Player, therefore this technique is not what I'm after.

Must I go through the process of demux/mux the video/audio files?

If so is there a guide out there which summarises these steps?

Some points to note ... I've already tried several combinations with SmartRipper's StreamProcessing options. I also have AC3 codecs. The VOB does contain audio, I've even successfully demux'ed it into separate audio files.

Any help would be most appreciated!

  2. Drop the ripped .VOB files straight into TMPGEnc DVD Author, and edit it to your own preferances.

If you want to convert to VCD, create a project file (.d2v) and a WAV using DVD2AVI, then encode with TMPGEnc:
