The left is input, the right one is output. Remember Options=>Swap Input/Output panes comes in handy when working with extra large resolutions.

Also right clicking on either pane brings viewing size options.

  4. There are two ways, first is to use the "save as AVI" function in v-dub to save your new AVI. The only problem with this is that you will end up with a file that's really big all the way up to enormous.
The second way is to frameserve the file with filters to a program such as TMPGEnc which will encode it directly to DVD compatible MPGs. Frameserving is a simple process which is outlined in the guides here.

  5. ok i see that the TMPGEnc converts to mpeg so i think i should be more specific as to what im using. I am using the virtualdub mpeg2 therefore my file is all ready in mpeg format. I tired saving as an avi and all i get is a tiny file that is nothing.

So knowing what im using, is the best way to still use the frameservering?

And the third way is to select a codec using Video=>Compression... Select the codec, its parameters, then OK. Then use the File=>Save As option.

  7. Poolplayr- I understand you are working with MPG, but it doesn't matter. v-dub mpeg2 won't save as an mpg. You are either going to have to save as an avi and re-encode or frameserve and re-encode.
I'm not sure why you were not able to "save as AVI" because I have done this easily with v-dub mpeg2 on many occasions.

Tommyknocker- This will not work in v-dub mpeg2. You must be thinking of v-dub mod in which case this is the same operation as I descibed above, but for a different program.
