  1. is there any way to get 3 Divx films (1hr and 30mins each) on a 4.7gb dvd-r, so i can play them on a standard dvd player ?

  2. convert them to vcd (authored on dvd-r)

    or get a standalone that could play divx.

    Hello,

    You can use a videobitrate calculator to determine the bitrate to fit that length of video on a dvdr:

    That link has a list of some calculators. You can convert them to a low mpeg2 bitrate and use halfd1 352x480 (ntsc) resolution to maximize the disc space.

    Also, check out the guides under the how to section on the left side of the screen and search "divx to dvd" for a better understanding of the steps involved.
