I think it'll be the https block that's causing it.
    If in doubt, Google it.

There's a total of 5 people in my firm - all guys. My secondary roll is "Mr. I.T." - so I'm the one in charge of server and any other equipment (if it plugs in - I'm the guy). No internet restrictions but we're all reasonable people so we don't do anything we really shouldn't be doing.

The Halo lunches are still fun though...

We have "Bess" which ******* sucks, I can't even view my OWN website.

It's alright, I just haven't had time to mess with a work around. I know all I have to do is make my PC a server and then go to the internet through a "non-regular" port but I haven't had time to research the network to find that port yet.

OR....I could set up a server on a PC that bypasses the Proxy and just log into that server and share it's connection BY GOD WATSON...THAT SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN!!!!!!

Easiest way is to remote desktop (terminal server) to a remote machine and browse till your eye go bloodshot...

Leave your home machine on and connect to it - should be pretty easy to convince your IT guys that you need access to you home computer...

@BJ_M: No doubt - but could still be argued that you need this access to your home computer...

if you set up everything on (cough cough) port 80 ... you dont have to ask anybody anything - IF YOU make sure that you are running encrypted between client server ...

im not sure -- but isnt that more or less what gotomypc.com does anyway ? ..... though i never hooked up that way ...

  14. hi,
you guys till lucky, here at work most of the pc's are blocked from using internet except for the few people and thats not including me, it's a big network. we use proxy authentication (novell) and only those with internet account can get through....but if you can get around it why not no restrictions
