Ok..so..when I use DVD Shrink to backup a movie, it plays fine on my comp.
but, it doesn't play on my DVD Player. Yes..my player is compatablie with DVD-Rs. When I do any other type of DVDs with other burning apps, it works.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to prevent this?

    1) Did you burn the disc as DVD-Video? Or as DVD-ROM?

    2) What kind of media are you using? What brand? Often this sort of thing happens from crappy media.

    Well..I don't exactly know if I burned it as DVD-Video or DVD-ROM

Is their a setting in DVD Shrink for that? Cause I brun with DVD Shrink when doing backups.

Or..do you reccomend me just creating an image in DVD Shrink and then burn with nero?

No, you can't burn with DVD Shrink, but you can burn with DVD Decrypter and tell DVD Shrink to start DVD Decrypter

Have a look at my guide here :

    http://www.thescrapyard.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/files/video/using%20freeware%20utilities%...r%20movies.htm

The most common reason for not playing on a standalone DVD player is media, BUT I have DVD's that play perfectly on a DVD player I have had about a year, but refused to play on 2 other DVD players I bought that are supposed to play anything, and one that refuses to play the DVD's is the same brand as the player that plays the DVD's, they refuse to even recognise the disc ........

I stopped using Nero to burn DVD's, and used the method using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter, and they play perfectly in all 3, using exactly the same media

So to me that says that Nero is crap at DVD-Videos, there are plenty of people on here who found that out long before I did, but there are also plenty of people that are very happy with Nero and DVD's

I'm plenty happy with Nero ...ver 5 that is

When you make a compilation you select DVD-ROM, DVD-Video, etc. Just highlight DVD-Video. And ...make sure the damned wizard is turned off

As far as I know DVDShrink uses NERO or DVD Decrypter to directly burn after ripping/encodeing. As far as I know the "settings" that are chosen are correct. Never had a playback problem with either DVD Shrink + Nero or Decrypter.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

When I got 3.2 it had a bug that the DVDShrink forum said was cured by turning off the "Burn with Nero" option in the "File I/O" tab. Otherwise it wouldn't recognize any disc. I prefer to burn as a separate step anyways
