reinstalling xp

hello everyone my computer is playing about at the minute when i start a program it just knocks of screen goes blank then comes back on again,iwas wondering if i reinstalled xp pro over the top of my exsisting version of xp pro will i need to reinstall service pack one again.any help is apreiated

Installing winxp over winxpsp1 will result in lots of errors.

Do a fresh install deleting the partition and installing onto a new partition and then install sp1 unless you know how to create a winxpsp1 intergrated cd then you can install over your old partition,search google if you want to learn how to make a winxpsp1 cd.
