After finally getting the right VFW downloaded and installed been trying to join two .avi files together. Tried joining following the directions from Afonic-dvd guides.com (AVI join with virtualdub,) but it seems like it is only taking one of the files, instead of both, at least that is what the log says. Would/could somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

If the files are the same structure, I just load the first one, select Append and add the second one. For more, just repeat. If this doesn't work, check the files to make sure they have the same audio, video specs.
VD can give you this in 'File Information'.
If the final destination is DVD, you can also process them separately, then use the authoring program to 'join' them. This solves some sync problems. -
the final destination is to convert to DVD, and, the conversion program I'm using is Nero. THe problem is when I put two parts of a movie in the window assembling what i want converted, it looks like they are seperated by some Nero icon.
So, the quesion is; will they still be seperate files after conversion, or, will they be one seamless file file? If they wouldn't be joined, how do I join them with Nero? I've looked, and, don't see how to do it there.
