  1. I have a couple of dvd's that I am having trouble with. I believe there is an error in the .ifo file that is causing these errors

These dvds rip using all the usual tools - and they are fine - play from HDD etc... BUT when trying to reburn them they are throwing a wobbler cos there is a missing vts_01_06.vob file - I have even tried fooling it by adding a one frame .vob, but it then says missing vts_01_07.vob!! this goes on ad infinitum.

Looking at the IFO files on IFOEDIT nothing looks out of sorts - there is no reference to this "missing vob file" that I can see.

If i just rip the movie using decrypter - then do Vobedit and Ifoedit - yes I can recreate the film no problem - BUT ALL THE MENUS AND SPECIALS ARE GONE.

How do I overcome this whilst maintaining the menu structure???

  2. are you poitive its ripping all the files fine? Are you using and title set blanker apps on it after its being ripped?

I enountered your exact same error once, and the reason for mine was that one of the vob files was slightly corrupt (were only talking a few megs) that i had to cut out and tried to fix with ifoedit/vobedit, etc--

in the end i had to end up re-authoring the entire dvd

  3. the last .vob file is causing the errors - if I only use the main film vobs and recreate the ifo's the the problems go away - BUT - I would dearly like to understand how to fix this - I would like to maintain the menu structure etc...

I have ripped using dvd decrypter then attempted to burn using tmpgenc and nero but both chuck up errors.

I am looking for a resolution to fixing the IFO's such that I can maintaint he menus.

All in all - i dunno if I can see the wood for the trees now!!!

  4. there are ways to fix your problem, however you mentioned "a few dvds". Now im thinking/wondering if it is your rom/burner (or whatever drive you use to rip) thats really your problem. Before going through the hassle of fixing these (well its easy but you know, nothing is ever simple), couldyou try it in another dvd drive in your pc and see if the problem still persist?

  5. its not the ripping rom - I have 2 and habe tried them both. There is an error is a config somewhere on the DVD that is causing the burn software to crash because it thinks it is missing a file.

Why and where could it be getting the info from that indicates the next file which is missing - this disc plays great on a dvd player - you just can't rip and backup

    I sure am confused!!
