  1. Hey guys ive downloaded my friends "home movie" of his ftp server and the files are as follows

    friends.home.movie.r00
    friends.home.movie.r01
    friends.home.movie.r02
    friends.home.movie.r03

    and it goes on till i get one

    friends.home.movie.rar

    could someone give me a dummys guide on how to extract the bin and cue's and what programs to use ive tried mac rar on os9 but its useless

    Hi scartcable,

    It might be easier for your mate to either author the movie to DVD disc or to burn the source files (as MPEGs) to DVD as a data disc. Then send you the disc in the post.

    A lot less mucking around for you...

    you just need an unrar app
    Stuffit Expander is what i use

    just click on the one that is just the .rar, with no numbers, using your right click, choose open with StuffitExpander and off it goes

    Stuffit is ok,
    I use MacPar Deluxe 2.6, because it also verifies the
    integrity of the of the .rar's checksum's, and let's you
    know before unpacking if you are wasting
    your time or not.

    Once it's installed, just double click on your .rar file, and
    Mac Par will launch, handling the rest.

    as will UnRarX, Gumby etc etc etc
    either way you have LOTS of ways to unpackage those files
