  1. Well I downloaded Swordfish off a ftp, and the ftp is all vcd's, and i downloaded it as 2 files only, both were mpg so i assumed it was vcd ready. burned it on nero, threw it in my apex ad-500a dvd player, it saw the cd, it told me the cd was the correct lenght, so i about pee'd my pants cuz the damn thing actually worked. But i pee'd to soon, because it would not play. it would sit there in the blue screen. I tried switching all the modes and stuff, no work. So right now im converting it to a vcd which takes about 8 hours. my question is, how do i see if i need to burn or convert first, and there has to be a better way to convert?

    plz help...thx.

Did you actually check if it was standard VCD compliant? Anything can play on your computer.

  9. Forget FTP's, ratios suck. AOL is the best. Quick and easy, who could ask for anything more? Infinite is very nice.

  12. um.......aol is the best?....ftp's suck?.....are you from mars?....thats gotta be the dumbest thing ive heard in all my life......aol is slow and has file size limits...12-14 meg.....ftp is as fast as the host and has no size limit.....requesting deadmails from a aol server is not good you ****...and not all ftp are ratio'd...maybe for you because you are a leech with no hookups....get a life man....and delete that aol......go on irc or a ftp...
    amazing......

  13. Well, if you dont have a leech or dump, then yes AOL is the best. For those of us non-cool people without the "hook-ups" AOL is much better. Do you really think that everyone here has the "hook-ups"? What do you suggest to them? I believe they would have a lot of fun with AOL. "Get a life" well, sorry, see, thats the problem, I do have a life and not on the computer all the time so I dont know about the "hook-ups", so, I do have a life, you ****. What was that?? What did I do to you? Issuses you have man. Getting mad over the computer, that is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. Since you are so enlightened and have been graced with knowledge about FTP's and I am guessing 0-day sites, why dont you help out everyone else?
All of you people without the rad-ass "hook-ups" like plg-tae, AOL is very easy to get stuff.
No, I am from Bakersfield Cali, not Mars. Dude, be nice.

  15. What do you mean by vcd 1 and vcd 2? Do you mean mpeg1 and mpeg2 or a two part vcd?

If anyone out there knows anything about ftp I need some advice. I'm trying to FTP some files from my mac to my PC. Is there a file size limit to FTP? Anything over 2.1 won't transfer properly. Or is that a file size limit of Win 2k?

    Donwload this program http://www.vcdhelp.com/MPEGSequenceMakerv02.zip

Open it up click on the 3 dots to browse for your mpeg, choose all instead of mpeg1 video only stream. You might get an error in German, click ok, it's telling you that it isn't a mpeg video only stream.

    Click on show options
then post what it says in these fields
    Video Size:
    Aspect Ratio:
    Frame Rate:
    Bit Rate:
    Minum VBV Buffer Size:
    Constrained: (checked or unchecked)

  19. video size = 352*288
    aspect ratio = 0.9157 (ccir601, 625 lines, PAL)
    frame rate = 25
    bit rate = 1152000

minum VBV buffer size = 40960

    constrained it checked.

I emailed you too bladefist, but thought it might help if someone else came across the same problem:

Your clip is a PAL clip. You said you have an APEX500 ad right? or at least an apex 500a. any way,

Turn on your DVD player with out a disc in it.
Press the setup key, go to general setup,
in that menu there should be an option for TV type,
arrow to it, and select NTSC, press play,
then exit setup by pressing setup again.

Your PAL VCD's should play now.
The spec's are correct for a complaint VCD.
Let me know if this works or not.
