well if its a dvd-r burner you can only burn -r's but if it does it both ways it really doesnt matter. there's no real difference between -r and +r. i would just buy whichever is on sale

thanks a lot by my question is which will not give me problems on dvd players -r or +r

If you did any research at all, you'd gather that neither format can guarantee universal, problem-free playback.

yeah best thing artie is to find your dvd player on the list and double check what it plays

I have a dual format burner. But which +R or -R disks should I buy
(assume they are the same price)? Or is "bitsetting" feature for +R
making it a little attractive than -R? By the way, all my current DVD
players play both +/- well.
Thanks. -
not getting too far off the original posters thread.... if your dvd players plays both it really doesnt matter. if they're the same price just close your eyes and pick oneOriginally Posted by xxiangg

If you're looking to be compatible with OTHER PEOPLE'S equipment, my personal experience has led me to DVD-R, but I have a dual format burner because my standalone DVD recorder is +R only.
