avi with MPG4 codec

i have 2 very large files that won't play in quicktime and i can't convert it with either MPEG2 Works or ffmpeg, the info from quicktime reads as follows:

3ivx D4 4.5.1, 640 x 320, Millions

MPEG Layer-3 Audio, Stereo, 44100 Hz


this site has a pc codec but i don't see a mac version:

does anyone know of a workaround?

i have the following codecs installed:

DivX 5.component
AC3 Codec.component
3ivx D4 4.5.1 for OSX

What does it say when opened in VLC (press cmd+I) and ffmpegX (with get info)?
