I have a HP630i which unfornatley is two different drives
The HP630i that I have is a rebranded Lite On
But HP orginally used a BenQ 1620 for the 630i.
So there two different 630is and when you do a dvd search is causes problems in the since that media that works for me might or might not work for a person with a 630i with BenQ hardware inside.
Could we have different entries for the Hp dvd 630i

to me it a site issue as it may be hps screwy way of doing things with there hardware
But since the site only has one entry for the 630i it is a site issue. I see people getting confused. -
OK after much yelling at HP about there practices I found out which HP is which
if your firmware is 9h11 it is a BenQ
if it is 8h26 it is a liteon -
So your issue is with information on this site being incorrect. My mistake.
I had trouble understanding what you were after. I'm moving this back to the Feedback forum ...... -
Well it right at the same time as wrong
HP used 2 different oems for the same model drive.
Which comes to the problem with Media compat list etc. Like I posted about memorex dvd+r which is 90% sure it will work with the BenQ/Phillips model. But more odd ball stuff like this 100 pack of DVD-r from SKY. -
sorry correction
Just called a friend who has access to a number of drives.
the 8h26 seems to be BenQ with the BenQ on teh label
9h11 Liteon with no identication.
BenQ emergency eject center of drive face place.
Liteon over to the left hand side.
