MeWiG has reached Version 0.007,
It is a GUI for the MEncoder for Windows.

The MEncoder is part of the MPlayer-suite, which is also available for Windows now. Its strength lies in the ability to read virtually any type of digital video source (including Dvd of course) without the need to access Windows-subsystems like DShow, VfW, Acm etc.

MeWiG is meant to simplify the usage of the commandline-driven MEncoder.
Right now, following features are implemented:

Sources can be
  1. Single and multiple files
  2. Urls
  3. DVDs (directly from disc)
  4. Local DVD-structures (from Authoring or a Ripper)

Video-processing-features
  1. Cropping (incl. Auto-detect)
  2. Scaling (incl. Auto-detect)
  3. Simple deinterlacing (linear blend, more options planned)

Audio-processing-features
  1. Using external sound files
  2. Resampling
  3. In-/decrease volume

Audio encoding
  1. Lame for mp3
  2. FFmpeg for mp2, mp3 and ac3
  3. Or same as input

Video encoding
  1. FFmpeg for Divx, Mjpeg, Wmv1 etc.
  2. Xvid
FFmpeg and Xvid of course support 2pass-encoding for better quality.

Right now the Output can only be Avi-files (OpenDml2), butt Ogg and other formats are planned.

Well this list is irritating long, altough the software is rather simple right now
