    Hello,

Decrypt????? If they're dvdr they don't have any enctryption on them. Just use normal disc copying procedures. It's already the size of a dvdr so just copy it to the harddrive.

    Hello,

    Well you didn't mention that....

A firmware upgrade would probably be a good idea. The pioneer website should have one.

Have you tried dvdshrink yet??? It would just do a straight copy - no compression since it's already dvdr.

  5. So what you are saying is you have some films that have been put onto 8X media and you wish to put them onto your h/d.
The speed of the disk should make no diffrence if you are copying to your hard drive. 106 is a duel format drive so it should handle both + & - format disks Ok.
Just put one of my 8x disk i have used to back up a film and it plays and copies OK in my 105....
Just use windows to copy files to your hard drive unless you are making a iso of them.
    Not bothered by small problems...

The 8x is for writing. It has no bearing on reading. If you have issues reading it then its probably simply the media (dye....) is not very compatible with your drive. Try cleaning the lens.
    Have a good one,
