That's what you get for playing at work
But who am I to talk, I played San Andreas from 4:00 to 10:30 last night. Got the pimping mission done, pretty cool since now the hookers pay you for a romp. ($48 ).
I ended up starting over because while running around blasting the world away in cheat mode, just screwing around, I left the controller for a couple of minutes and my daughter saved my game so she could playso I started again, no cheat and double saved just in case.

I thought you were talking to yoda313 also.
Na, I play PSone games and crap at work. The good stuff waits until I get home. I think I've logged about an hour a day into Xmen since I got it on average.
I just don't have the time to play alot of big games between the legnth of my shift, and the drive, and my need for much sleep. Then on my days off I'm not even home most of the time, it all adds up fast. -
I picked up a copy of OXM a couple of days ago and damn the new splinter cell looks good! It's called chaos theory and it comes out nov 16th along w/ POP: warrior within(which also looks super cool). Too bad I'll be playing halo at that time. It's going to be a good winter break!

I got way too many games going on now t0:
Playing X-Men Legends, Star Wars Battlefront, Burnout 3 , Mortal Kombat Deception and my GF just won me a copy of Street Fighert Anniversary for PS2.
And I stiil got to finish Doom 3, Farcry , Call of Duty United Offensive, Unreal 2004 and Painkiller on my PC. Got a copy of Half Life 2 ready to download when it is avaialbe also. -
I Played Return to Castle Wolfenstein for 4 hours last night. I usually play about 2 hours a day. I play C&C Generals about 1 hour a week. I used to play a ton of Warcraft III, but maybe about an hour every other week. I'm getting the new MYST game soon and will spend a lot of time on that till I figure it out. Probably will be about 6mos. to a year. I buy a journal and make entries into it to work my way through figuring things out. I could get a strategy guide, but That helped me beat Riven in 4 hours and it just wasn't fun having all of the answers. MYST took me 2 months back in the mid 90's. I love that series. I also like playing the Resident Evil games.

My GF entered a Capcom contest and won a package with the game, comic book, poster, T-shirt, stagedy guide and a PS2 Street Fighter Controler.
A new Capcom Fighting Evolution is comming out for PS2 soon as well. It has characters from Street Fighter 2 , 3 and Alpha, and DarkStalkers -
I have it on the XBOX but over here there is no planned release on the PS2

THere was a pirate game for the Super Famicon That was Street Fighter but included Mario and Luigi as fighters. They sucked.

I am not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but I see a number of different platforms mentioned in this forum. My 2 boys have been bugging me to let them get a gaming console to play with on the extra television.
I have heard a lot of good and bad about various systems and am wondering what is the prevailing thought is on which platform to get.
I was thinking Sony PS2 but my older son wants to get Nintendo Gamecube. At the risk of starting a huge opinion war, what are your thoughts regarding what is out there. They already have their own PC's with a number of games but are wanting the console as well. So we are strictly talking TV gaming consoles and the games that are played on them.
I don't think cost is a real issue, they all seem to be around the same money, give or take a few. . .
What I guess I am looking for guidance in is the intangibles like, image clarity/resolution, game cartridge/disc availability, controller ease of use, quality, etc.
I admit I know very little about these things and am looking for some knowledgeable gamers to help me out.
Thanks in advance, and now back to our regular programming . . . :PJust because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't after you . . .

Hello,
Generally:
PS2 - Role playing games
Xbox - shooters
Gamecube - Kid games
Don't get me wrong - all have their advantages. And many games are made for all 3.
Xbox - built in harddrive, can do dvd with addon.
PS2 - needs external harddrive if don't want memory cards - auto plays dvds.
Gamecube - no dvd option
Get them the one they want and they won't be sorry

You're pretty much safe buying anything because most games are multi-platform. The only problem is that there are some games exclusive to some systems. But since your sons already have a gaming PC, I think you're safe because the "exclusive" games come out for the other consoles or PC eventually (like Splinter Cell, GTA, and halo). -
I almost got Battlefront for PC last night, but the $45 tag created some sort of force field in front of it and wouldn't let me touch it. I call this field of force "WIFE". Extremely difficult to get through. However I will have it at some point. My wife says I can get it when it's $10. So that means I probably won't be playing it for quite a while.

Don't let anything get in the way between you and Star Wars my friend

You kidding me. A mind trick on "WIFE" is like holding a loaded gun to your head with a loose trigger.

She is the FORCE. I can either work with her or be pummeled to dust. Those are the ONLY options. If I work with her I get sex and a happy household. If I get pummeled to dust, I'll be very limited as a contributor to society and it's a little more painful. She also knows the combination to the gun cabinet and gets home before me. Not very good to come home to an angry wife with those conditions.
