  1. Okay, I tried doing this from the conversion guide on this site but it seems to be a bit outdated as far as available software.

    So here's the deal:
I have VCD Mpeg-1's I would like to covert .asf format.
VirtualDub seems to get me started, but I'm a newbie and can't figure out how to make it compress to mpeg-4 and them to save as .asf.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I didn't see it.
Happy Holidaze to All...And thanks in advance

  2. Try sonic foundrys stream anywhere. That might be alot easier. I'm using it right now to convert a corrupted avi to asf and it seems to be doing a good job. There is a guide on the convert link to walk you through it

  3. I'll give Stream Anywhere a shot.

Another question though. Where can I get the Mpeg-4 codec so that I can use that compression with VirtualDub?

I guess to cut to the chase, I want to get about 25 min of video down under the 100 meg range with good enough quality to watch on a TV (out from computer through vid card).

Thanks for helping a newbie out.
