now meritline put them between best DVD-R in planet like tayio yuden and verbatim and maxell...now in professional grade instead of premium grade where memorex were for last year about...so what is going on...

now memorex are perfect quality????? in so short time???

or meritline is trying to sell that cheap crap saying now memorex is one of the best!!!

memorex uses all different manufacturers for their dvd media. take a look at the dvd media section and you'll see they use CMC, FUJIFILM 03, RITEK, MCC, PRODISC, & RICOH. today i returned 2 - 15 pack spindles to office depot because the media codes were CMC. i had purchased (1) 8x 25 pack spindle of DVD-R & (1) 25 pack spindle of 8x DVD+R of memorex from compusa a few weeks ago and the media codes for DVD-R were FUJIFILM 03 and DVD+R PRODISC. i guess the 15 pack and 25 pack spindles are different media codes. I haven't purchased anything from meritline before. if you want good quality dvd media RIMA.com is another reputable online store.

Not to vouch for Memorex but a guy that I work with brought in a spindle of Memorex DVD-Rs to backup some movies for him and so far they've all worked fine. Personally I've used Primedisc and Prodisc and both have worked perfectly for me. The only ones that have sucked big time are some so called Platinum discs I bought at MicroCenter. Lot's of DVDs that take a long time to load, have to load the disc 2-3 times before it will recognize it or even discs that played fine and then a month later will give no disc on my settop and are not even recognized in my PC. I'll check out the code for that batch of Memorex and see who they're from.
I never go by reviews on sites selling the stuff. I always come here or similar sites to see what actual experience from others says.

  9. Well I've burned over 300 CMC Memorex DVD-Rs to date without a single failure of any sort. Absolutely flawless burn after burn after burn on my 2500a, perfect playback on standalones and Xbox.

it still doesn't mean that they improve... it's just terminology... the best media is the best media... and you all know what i'm talkin about...
With all due respect... and there is respect...
