Does TMPGEnc or TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator have to analyze files everytime before actually encoding them? That makes it take longer by analyzing then encoding...can't it just encode without analyzing?
Or a program that encodes to Widescreen DVD faster?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Venom

The analysis pass is required when you do a multipass Variable Bit Rate (VBR) - just change the settings to Constant Bit Rate (CBR) and you'll get only one pass. Although you may not get the same quality this way.
You can also change it to a Constant Quality (CQ) - but you can't predict the file size. -
Use motion estimate search too, will speed up encoding time without any noticeable quality reduction.

Stick to 2 pass mate - better results.
TMPGEnc also correctly uses 'multiprocesors' if available on your PC - many programs out there do not.
It usually takes about me approx 2 hours per hour of film for me to convert. I use a an Intel MultiProc PC running @ 3.1GHz wif a meaty HDD.
Andy.
P.S. Think about it - there is always a damn good reason why a program would take a long time to do something i.e. 'analyse'.....
It's always a balance between Time & quality.Work you bloody thing....
