Loading ScreenPlay 4800 firmware on X1 projector

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has rewritten an X1 projector with the Screenplay 4800 firmware as mentioned here

I have the files to do the upgrade to SP4800 but have not done it yet.
If I upgrade the firmware will the hour meter be reset?
Has anyone done this, and noticed an improvement?
Will the X1 remote still work after the update? or is this a hardware thing not related to the firmware?
What are your opinions on the upgrade?

Also the upgrade can be reversed if need be (warranty, etc.)

Anyway Im thinking of doing it, just wanted to get your thaughts.
