Hello all, not sure if this is the right forum or not but here goes:

I hate how slow the MainConcept encoder is in Vegas 5.0, it's really frustrating, and I know CCE is a heck of a lot faster, well worth the investment. BUT, is there a way that I can encode from Vegas to CCE FROM THE TIMELINE IN VEGAS, i.e. not encoding to AVI first. Someone has said some stuff about frameserving but I tried it and it seems to go painfully slowER than just using the mainconcept.

Bottomline, is there a way to get the speed of the CCE encoder via encoding from the Vegas timeline?

wow that was a quick reply! Unfortunately - that's the one I used, by the Satish guy or whatever his name is, I must be missing something if it "works great" -anything I need to know b4 using it, settings or what not?

  4. what I usually do is go to File > Render As > PluginPac Frameserver .AVI

then open up CCE while Vegas is still running and load the AVI as your source file

if you have an old one installed there is an updated version for vegas 5 i think

do you get some sort of error message somewhere along the way?

what about the part that says "please select/check the following options before starting to frameserve" ?

    RGB24, RGB32, YUY2 ??

Which do I pick? I'm using footage captured from a DVC80 camera, making instructional DVDs here..

  7. hmm... I can't remember it asking me that question before but if it's just frameserving you can go with RGB32 for the most color information

you know what i noticed about CCE, it doesn't have all the options and stuff that the Vegas encoder does. I use DVDworkshop 2 for my dvd authoring and apparently CCE does "lower field first", and the default in Vegas is "upper field first" - does this matter? I would think it doesn't
