I think they miscalculated when retailers started to use Xmas as a time to boost sales. Instead of concentrating on a Christian holiday, they should have pushed celebrating New Years Day. That way they could include other groups, too.

In any event, each year Xmas comes it's just a little more unwelcome. I could gladly do without it altogether.....

My kids go through the ads in the paper, comment on every freaking toy... Now my 2 oldest (10 and 13) want cellphones....

Shit I can remember it was underwear, t-shirts, maybe some socks and if we were lucky a few toys, but nothing like today..

My in-laws are...um....cough large people, while my family is normal sized but big eaters, we just don't carry the weight and I don't know why.
