    I know everyone has their own opinion and favorites when it comes to programs for converting AVI to MPEG so I would like to get some idea on which are the fastest converters.
    I use MainConcept for alot of my converting and it seems to be pretty quick for me.

    MainConcept is pretty good, The only encoder faster than this (depending on the settings) is Cinemacraft.

    The fastest I've seen, by far, is the brand new one from www.mediostream.com. But I can't vouch for it's quality, because even though I tested the trial version, I never burned it's output and played it on a decent TV.

    This info is great.
    I know of course quality has to be a factor in there too because whats the use of speed if it doesnt produce a good quality MPEG.
