I’m currently using WinXP. I’m considering buying a Pinnacle DC10plus. I would install Win95 next to WinXP. I’m planning to grab the video under Win95 and edit the video under Win95 (Adobe Premiere). Is this a foolish idea? Is the DC10plus a good investment on a longer term (my guess is that Pinnacle some day will release WinXP drivers…).

Merg

I'd hold off a little longer. Pinnacle announced in September that the next upgrade to Studio 7 will bring the DC10plus into the WinXP-compatible fold. I think that might be the only way to go; even if you don't plan on using Studio, you may have to get it just to be able to use the DC10plus with anything at all.
Personally, I'm waiting for that day myself.
One thing you might also investigate, is if Pinnacle has some kind of trade-in plan towards their Studio AV pack. From what I understand, that's nothing more than a DC10plus/Studio 7 bundle. -
I hope my post isn't too late
*Don't* buy the Studio DC10 Plus.
Pinnacle is going to charge money for the XP drivers- they will not be free :< I hate Pinnacle with a violent passion and hope they go out of business.
I just upgraded to XP and am so riled up about the cost for the XP drivers (yes, I have a DC10 plus) that I would rather buy a new capture card than give another cent to Pinnacle. And the drivers should be done. I don't understand the delay. Most other companies have XP drivers out.
In fact, the only hardware I have that doesn't work is this card. And Pinnacle expects me to pay them more money to make it work? I don't think so -
Not too late. I decided to save longer and immidiatly by a Digital Camcorder (perhaps with analog in) and go via Firewire.

I thought ths software upgrade was not free but I haven't seen anything on Pinnacle's site that suggests that drivers will cost anything. I just got the DC10+ for $50 after long deliberation - worse comes to worse I can slot it in a Win98SE machine
