Im currently looking for a capture device.Im running xp pro,xp2800,512meg ram, and Im looking at transfering some old vhs and 8mm tapes to my computer for making dvds. Im looking to spend in the 75 dollor range. thanks in advance Jay

Click on 'Capture Cards' to the left. Then click on 'Price'; scroll down till you find $75. There are both cards and devices listed there. Also look at lord smurfs page digitalfaq.com for capturing information.
Others here can probably give you some specific recommendations for cards or capture devices. It depends on what quality you want, ease of use and how many tapes you want to convert. -
i was recommended Winfast TV 2000 XP Deluxe by other members here, i too would recommend the card. it gives out a good quality, used it once to transfer a vhs to dvd the results were good imo considering the tape wasnt in great condition, in fact, the video appeared the same as on the vhs. lately i've been using the card to record tv shows and i'm getting good quality there as well. this all considering i only paid $45 for the card plus the nice software it comes with
