I have a DVP 642/37. I've encoded a divx file from a DV avi. Using the Divx 5.21 codec, I chose the Home Theater divx cerfified settings. When I play the file on the DVP 642, I get video but no audio thru the digital or the analog connections. Firmware is version 531.

What kind of audio did you use? MP3 should work. People here have reported AC3 works. However, there are limitations on MP3. It won't play above a certain bit rate that's listed in the manual, but I don't remember what that is. If you made the DivX with DTS audio, that might not work. OGG definitely won't work. Officially, Divx certification only supports MP3 audio and if anything else works, like AC3, that's a bonus, but it's not guaranteed. Finally, check your file on a PC and make sure you have audio when playing it there.

I used Virtual Dub. I did not see setting for the audio. Under Audio menu, compression was not selectable.
