Does anyone know if the new DVD+R DL format works for the most obvious purpose of copying a DVD-9 movie? And do standalone DVD players play it?
Oops. I meant to put this in the DVD Writers section, not the news.

I think this is the wrong forum for this... but the answer is:
1. Sometimes.
and
2. Some of them.
Hope this helps! -
I see now that there is a "DVD+R DL" item in the player compatibility section, and some of the players are reported as being successful with it.

ABout 40% should play it according to one post I read but, they should make players that can play it.
