  1. Hi!

Soon I will get a Mustek DVD V520 standalone dvd player that can play dvd's and SVCD's (PAL/NTSC). I have a Sony Widescreen and I wonder if 16:9 (WS) SVCD movies will FILL up my screen just like a 16:9 dvd or will it show black bars on top and bottom? Or should I download 4:3 SVCD's instead and just strech it out?

And I will encode dvd's (in TMPGenc). So if I have a 16:9 Anaphormic DVD (PAL) i will set the Source aspect ratio to: 16:9 625 line (PAL) and the Video arrange method to: Full Screen (keep aspect ratio)?

If I do this will my SVCD FILL up my Widescren (WITH NO BLACK BARS on top or bottom)?

    In avance thanks!

  2. By the way my DVD-player supports PAL/NTSC in 16:9 and 4:3...but I still answer the question.

  3. assuming true anamorphic source choose 16:9 for both source/output & arrange full-screen. for letterboxed movies crop the black bars & resize first. you knew what to do....easier to burn a test cd-rw

Keep in mind some widescreen 16:9 DVD's are still letterboxed, especially when the film's original aspect ratio is 2.35:1.
