Hello Thanks for helping me. I was looking at the the section of the site were you can llok up info about dvd player. And some of the dvd players require a certain color layer cd-r/cd-rw. I wanted to know what that means? How can you tell what color the layer is? And What brand makes SILVER LAYER cd-rs? Thanks a lot.

the reference is to the reflective layer color. if the top of the disc is not completely silkscreened it should be obvious what color the reflective layer is(i.e. gold, silver). otherwise, you will be stuck trying to discern the color thru the dye layer from the underside(dye materials have corresponding color shades as well)
