no subtitles on tv

I have a problem viewing a divx movie on my TV. Maybe somebody can help me with this.

Viewing the movie on tv works good. But i'm using subtitles in srt-format, and those don't appear on the TV, They appear on my PC. I have a Radeon 9800XL. Anybody has a solution.

Where are the subtitles stored on your system. You may have to hard encode them onto your video to get them to display on your TV.

I really don't wanna hard-encode them into the movie. Sometimes frnech friend cme by an we watch the movie with french subtitles, sometimes the same with dutch friends.

do you mean that you use the tv-out on the radeon card?? do you use vobsub ?

or do you play with a divx standalone dvd player?

or do you convert to vcd,svcd?

it's a divx i play on my pc and the tv is connected to the radeon tv-out.

and what software are you using? tried different software players?? are you using vobsub when viewing on the pc monitor? or some player?

i use bsplayer, it cas use srt-files for the subtitles. Why vobsub. isn't that just a tool to rip subtitles.

No, so try vobsub now. Install it and when you play a movie with any player you should see the subs. You must name the subtitle file and video file with same name except the extensions, like video.avi and video.srt.

And what if we have a french srt-file, a dutch and an english one. Is there some kind od way we have to name them.

Did it work?

You can name them like video.avi, video.english.srt, video.france.srt and switch subs by right click on the green arrown in the tray. Or if you play with Media Player Classic choose Play->Subtitles.
