Is your 2nd Hard Drive NTSF or Fat 32? If its NTSF, which because Slax refused to write to it I'm guessing that it is, then you cannot write to it with Slax. Writing to NTSF is not supported in the 2.4 linux kernal (fat 32 is though). If you don't have any other data on the 2nd hard drive you could just reformat it in Fat 32 format and then you should be able to write to it. You can use QT Parted for such a task, It should be in the K menu somewhere or I believe you can also access it by opening a new Konsole and typing:Is there any possible way of transferring files to my 2nd hard drive through SLAX? I tried making a new folder on my 2nd hard drive, and it said it couldn't make it, why not?
I just have alot of files, and I dont want to have use a whole bunch of cd's, but dont get me wrong I will do it if I have to. They are pretty important files.

QT Parted is a tool to create new partitions and reformat drives. You wouldn't really need to make a new partition, just reformat the drive in Fat 32- Make sure to do it in Fat and not in something else like EXT 3 or something because otherwise Windows won't be able to recongnize it.
Your best bet would just be to burn the cds- at 52x you can make a cd in under 2 minutes.
If you still want to write to an NTSF hard drive, there is a complicated and risky way to do it, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Let me know what you come up with.

Well, I'm pretty sure I have NTFS. But I have video saved on my 2nd hard drive, and I dont want to lose that also...
I understand that you wouldn't recommend the other way, but can you tell me how its done? Is there a link for it or something?"The statement below is True,

I don't think Slax has Captive NTSF, but you can check to make sure.
Download Knoppix:
www.knoppix.net
Boot up in Knoppix with the Boot Cheatcode: knoppix 26 (this enables the 2.6 Kernal, which does support NTSF writing, but is still not stable).
After you boot up in Knoppix, go to system and then Captive NTSF (I believe this is the right path). Captive NTSF will then let you write files to your hard drive, hopefully you won't have any data loss.
Another thing that you could do is burn your videos on your 2nd hard drive to cds and then reformat it- this would be good if they are smaller than the files on your primary hd.
I believe that the method I described above is correct, but if it isn't here is a link:
www.knoppix.net/docs/
There should be something about it on there. -
Ok, the thing is, the video files are large sizes (averaging over 5 GB each).
I will check out the Knoppix website, and will decide what I do from that.
(P.S. I am actually posting on the computer running SLAX.)"The statement below is True,

www.knoppix.net/docs/ does not work.
Also, which version of Knoppix do I download?"The statement below is True,

Yeah Im using the computer. But I wish it was Windows XP, and I wish I was accessing all my files. But...
I think I might just burn the dvd's. How stable is that feature in SLAX? Becaue I don't want to make coasters, you know? How long would it take to burn a DVD with the k3b?"The statement below is True,

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My computer is running again. I didn't lose anything either!!!!
I just wanted to let everyone know, that I ran from the cd again and just for the heck of it did the "repair" option. It went through the procedure and then it booted up.
As soon as I'm done posting I'm copying every last file (well the ones I need) to my 2nd hard drive! Then I will do a complete format, and re-install XP.
Nevertheless, I am very glad everything worked out for me.
Thanks for everyone's help!!!"The statement below is True,

I told ya so...
:P
Again,
I recommend a backup program like Norton Ghost -
Yeah, I remember what you said earlier in the thread, but I didn't bother doing it, because right before I started the post I tried doing that, and for some reason it didn't work.. but then I tried it again later and all of a sudden it worked. But either way, yeah you were right.

I'm not one to brag or anything but when I can help someone fix a problem I like to gloat a little. Usuaully I tell people to fix the computer with a sledge hammer or dynamite.
Just happy to hear it worked out for you -
