best way to copy divx to dvd

I have a divx file and I want to be able to play it thru my DVD player. The player does not play avi files. The file is 820MB and will not fit on a CD. What's the best way and how to fit this file on a DVD? Can I burn it as a VCD on a DVD? Is it possible to covert divx avi to MPEG-2?

www.thefilmmachine.com has an easy to use conversion tool.

You can get a VCD-DVD onto a DVD. All you have to do is patch it and change the audio to 48mhz. As the previous poster mentioned, to a search (or look in the guides sections drop down VCD-DVD or AVI to DVD)

About those conversion tools...I try couple of them and every time I open my avi file the program stops responding. No errors...just dies. What's the problme?

use divfix or other "fixin' " program to make sure the AVI is OK before using anything. OR, redo your divx file from the source. What was the process that you used to convert your source to the divx?
