  1. I'm pretty savvy with conversions, so I wouldn't be posting about it if I wasn't really having a problem. Here's the lowdown...

I'm doing a PAL to NTSC conversion of a live concert. Done it a million times before. I've got my video finished and have converted the audio. I checked them both out, and they're perfectly in sync. Cool. Unfortunately, when doing PAL>NTSC conversions for music-based stuff, the pitch slowdown is quite noticeable, so I use an audio program to raise the pitch while keeping the same time-length. Here's where it get's weird. Once I do that, the final output file reads to be the same size and the same length, according to all my programs. But when I do my final multiplexing, the resulting video is wayyy out of sync with the audio. I don't understand it, as it's the exact same length as the un-pitch-corrected audio file (which synced perfectly with the video).

I've done this tons of times with conversions, all successfully. This is the only time I've seen this problem, and even tried using three different audio programs to do the pitch correction. All were out of sync. I'm pretty stumped here, so any help would be appreciated.

  2. Well, after much grueling trial and error, I've fixed my problem by increasing the pitch the proper ratio before converting it to NTSC with BeSweet. Therefore, the pitch of the resulting audio is correct. Just a note.
