When I capture with older analog tapes through my panasonic pv-852 minidv camcorder I get a crackly digitized sound at some points in the tape. If I capture through my wintv dbx tv card I don't have the sound issue, but the video isn't nearly as good. I tried using Premiere 6.5, Ulead movie factory, and windvd to do my capture thru my camcorder and get the same issue each way. Is it a problem with my camcorder, the tape or maybe computer setting? I am capturing to a second drive maxtor 200gb 7200 ide internal drive.

I went to this website and it seems like a similar problem.

They attribute it to alignment differences between camcorders. I am using pass-thru from my VCR so I wouldn't think it's an alignment issue. I found it interesting that he was using a Panasonic camcorder also. Makes me wonder if its a Panasonic issue. Does anyone have similar issues with other brands?
