  1. I tried to encode a DivX file in Ffmpegx (the output was supposed to be a dvd-file, can't remember the name). After seven hours (!) the progress was cancelled due to some error. Am I doing all just wrong? Should I use another program to encode the Divx file to a working dvd-file which i can then burn?

    Subtitles would also be nice...

Talking about the subtitles, haven't gotten the subtitles to work in Quicktime. I've tried to export the .srt files from SubSyncX but Quicktime still won't play them. Just a white square in the top left corner where subtitles show, but the movie disappears...

Please help, going nuts over here...

  6. What if I use Divx Doctor and make a .mov file of the .avi file? What then?

its still the same problem, how to go from that to dvd

if you do that, it only allows you to open the .avi in quicktime, and then exporting to mpeg2 would work but you only get video, so you then have to demux the .avi and recombine the .m2v from quicktime in some sort of authoring app

can be done and if you want give it a try, but i recommend the mpeg2works method

the app is not very expensive and its worth every penny when you see how good it works
