    Hi guys,

When burning an mpeg video in Nero 6 onto DVD disc, which option do I use?

I want to be able to play it on my DVD player in the living room. Do I choose the data disc on the DVD tab, or Disc image or what?

When I choose the DVD tab then "Burn DVD video files" I can select the mpeg file to put into the Video_TS folder, but immediately it says "No compatible file found"

    Thanks for any replies.

    Hello,

dvd video files probably means the completed video_ts folder. You need to author the mpg to burn it to disc.

Use whatever language is needed to author the mpg into a dvd. It should let you import the mpg and make a menu/chapters out of it. Then it will create a video_ts folder with the vobs in it. That's what gets burned onto the dvd.

    Hello,

Bitrate viewer will let you know. It should be mpeg2 with a bitrate over 2000 and a resolution of 352x480 or 720x480 (ntsc) and 48khz audio. (there are a few more exceptions but those are the basics).

Authoring is merely desinging the layout of the menus. The program will do the dirty work. You can put pictures or videos in the background depending on how complex your version of nero is.

    Aspect ratio: 16:9 Generic
    Framerate: 25.00
    Nom. bitrate: 5000000 Bit/Sec
    VBV buffer size: 112
    Constrained param. flag: No
    Chroma format: 4:2:0
    DCT precision: 8
    Pic. structure: Frame
    Field topfirst: No
    DCT type: Frame
    Quantscale: Nonlinear
    Scan type: ZigZag
    Frame type: Progressive
    Notes:

    Bitrate peak = 5588, average = 4883

There results really mean nothing to me! But maybe to you they do!

Ok that means you have a pal dvd compatible mpg file. Just go ahead and load that into the authoring portion of Nero. I don't have nero so I can't tell you exactly where to go. Just find the tab that says dvd creation, or dvd authoring, or make a dvd. Something like that so you get an option to make the menus and chapters and etc...

    Shouldn't be too difficult.

Use Nero Vision Express 2(if you have it) to author,if not try TMPGEnc DVD Author.
