I have 2 AVI movie files I want to join together, so I tried VirtualDub and when I open the one of the files that I want a message comes up:
Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'MP43' (Microsoft High Speed MPEG-4 V3)
VirtualDub requires a video for Windows(VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. Directshow codecs such as those used by Windows Media Player are not suitable.
Anybody know what this means and how I can join these 2 files together to get my complete movie.
I then want to convert it to DVD format. Is WINAvi the best program to do this?
Thanks

Download Windows Media Player 10, it includes the codec. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b446ae53-3759-40cf-80d5-cde4b...displaylang=en

thanks I already have Windows Media Player 10 installed and the files play fine on it. I just can't put the 2 files together to make 1 movie.

Will this codec from the above link enable me to put the 2 files into 1 using VirtualDub. I have tried using The Film Machine but to no avail.
