This is what I wrote on Bizrate.com
I placed an order on a Sunday and received shipping confirmation on Tuesday with tracking information that stated BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED. On Wednesday, I noticed the charge was made to my credit card. Thursday comes along and when checking the tracking information, it states BILLING INFORMATION VOIDED. I called up Meritline and after being on hold for about 20 minutes I called them up again. I finally spoke to someone who said the shipment was voided because the item was backordered. WHY WOULDN'T THEY CHECK THEIR INVENTORY FIRST BEFORE SENDING ME TRACKING INFO AND CHARGING MY CARD!? I may be a needle in the haystack amongst all the positive reviews but at least some people will read this. Others may have a good experience with these sellers but as for me, my first (and last) was far from satisfactory.

Hey jaystizo,
I feel your pain. My first order with them was my last. As it turned out I got my money back after filling a claim with my credit card company.
The reason they charge right away is because they want to cling on to you and not lose your business. This is a very dishonest company. For those who have had good luck with them, they have to get some orders right or they wouldn't still be in business. -
They are by far the worse on-line buying experience I have ever had. Just absolutely HORRENDOUS!!!!! I bought a cake box 100 DVD-R. When I received the package the DVDs was all busted up as it was badly packaged. I called waited forever to get an RMA #. When I received the replacement, what they did was send me the exact same busted up package with scotch tape on it. I was just beside myself at that point. So I got on the phone again and JUST UNLOADED on the poor girl on the phone. Never again. That was pretty shady ish.

I would never recommend anyone to meritline. I ordered Ritek G04 and they gave me G05. When I asked for an exchange after countless e-mails they said they'd give me my money back. I'm still waiting for that. MERITLINE BLOWS!!!!

jaystizo, they had a lot of trouble with that in the past. They had corrected most of it, but sounds like the old demon strikes again. It was usually a RITEK issue, they sell out a lot, or at least did in the past.
DVWannaB, yelling at the girl is rude. You look like the jerk, and they should hang up on you. I frankly don't believe your story at all.
HotDamnItzDavid, G05 for G04 isn't a bad thing, but if that's what you want, that's what you want.
Meritline is one of the best companies I've dealt with, but that said, don't let them get you down. Win your war, whatever it may be. I never take "no" for an answer. Everybody always fixes my problems, so maybe this is why I have a better outlook on things. I don't jump on the "sucks" wagon very easily.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

When I said I unloaded on the girl on the phone, what that means is that I told her in no uncertain terms that what they did was shady/dishonest business practice, I was very unhappy with the whole process and lost me as a customer. I used no curse words, I kept a low even tone, as is customary for me, but was firm in my assessment of the whole affair. If my story is still unbelievable to you then so be it. My life seems to unaltered by anyone's disbelief. By other comments, it seems I am not the only that has had "issues" with Meritline. -
With any store online/ or your local supercenter. You will always have customer service issues. You have some people that have no problems with the seller. Then every now and then you have a problem. I would think it's up to the store to correct any mistakes on their end. I have always been able to correct any issues I have had on problems with Meritline, Supermediastore, Newegg and RIMA. At some point over the past three years. I normally get it resolved with one email or one phone call. I also feel that whenever a problem occurs that you should be able to past reviews of your bad experience. The company however would need to read those complaints and take the needed action or take the risk of losing customers.
Just my 2 cents worth. -

Lots of those companies are saturated with Asians, so I'm not surprised. However, minor accent aside, most of them speak very eloquent English. I'd rather hear that than ebonics gangsters.
Again, win your war. The best judgment is a company is not how perfect they work, but how well they fix mistakes.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

They don't give me the option to cancel or wait for my order. Now I have to try and contact them to find out what is going on. Meanwhile I have no merchandise and no way to place another order with another company casue I only use 1 credit card over the internet and I have a limit. I just don't get their way of thinking even with their policies. -

That being said I buy 90% of my discs from cdrdvdrmedia.com- one of thier companies. I buy the LeadData (accu) discs from them because they are cheap and pretty decent for generic media. For more important stuff I use Tayio. But after reading all the negative posts, I would never buy them from one of the meritline stores. I would be afraid of getting fakes
The only real problem I have with them is thier poor packaging. They absolutely refuse to improve thier packing methods. They take the spindles throw them in a empty box and toss in a few styrofoam peanuts and call it good.
Anybody that deals with UPS knows what happens next. I once got a hard drive delivered by UPS. The box was so mutilated I was able to reach inside and pull the drive from the box without opening it. It had even come lose from the plastic encasing!
I made it very clear to them (many shipments ago) that the next shipment I got from them that was trashed due to poor packaging would be the last- that they would lose my business.
They obviously don't care, because the packages are still just as poorly packaged.
So I shop with them- for now. But I definitely wouldn't trust them with expensive media. Not after all the horror stories. -

I can just hear it now
