  1. I have a load of old VHS rips of old TV shows on my HD as AVI files, I have vegas video 5, and want to use some virtualdub filters to clean up the video. I know you are supposed to be able to use them directly without frameserving, but I cant figure out how to import the filters into vegas. any ideas?

  2. bransholme - this is not going to help you directly, but did you search the forum? This came up sometime in the past few months and I think the post explained how to do this..maybe from BJ_M as I think he's a vegas user

I know you can do this by using Wax 2 which works as a plugin for Vegas. Not sure if you can use Vdub filters directly in Vegas.

get wax from debugmode.com, install, and you can use many v-dub filters directly in vegas ....

In Wax (launch as standalone), go to Edit - Preferences, and uncheck "Use 3D Hardware Acceleration" this can cause crashes for some users. If this is already unchecked, or doesn't fix the problem, leave a message for Satish on the Debugmode.com forum - he's very responsive.

Edit - Also just saw the check box for "Use Dummy Host Media in Wax Plugin for Sony Vegas" - might give that a try too!

Safesurfer is right on both counts .... should fix it right up .... hardware Acceleration only works on some cards (not sure which)

If you want the subtitle filter for VirtualDub, it's on the VDub website.

A whole bunch of subtitle tools.
