I have a bunch of home movies and some self made music I want to share with my old music teacher who moved out of the area.

I really am not a mail guy.

So I woould really like your advice on what is the best way that I can split a .cda or .avi file if video, and send it to him.

I figured I would "burn" audio to CD image file. Then use some kind of unjoin, join software or even WINRAR or WINZIP and send it to him. IF he was computer literate, I use something like .APE files.

Please give me your suggestions, whith the knowledge that this needss to be simple on the other end.

    Thanks in advance.

I would really think more about just mailing the finished product. To get any decent quality, email is difficult. If the person is on dialup, it will take a while. And his server may not like the size of the files.

If you want a fairly universal format for a Windows PC, you might use Windows Media Player (WMV)format. This he should be able to play wiithout access to outside programs.
