  1. Hello,
this might have been covered before and if it has I am sorry, tried to search.
Problem: I have made a backup of the excellent (?) movie Van Wilder/Van the Man, region 2, with MTR 2.0.2, DVD2One 1.41 and burned with Toast 6.0.7 on a Traxdata DVD-R 4x disc in my iMac 17" (DVR-104 with XVIs patch). When I watch the movie on my stand alone player (reg 2) it plays fine for aprox 5 min and the the screen turns grey/black with no audio but the sound is present. If I pause, slow forward or fast forward the picture is there. When I press play I have video for 1 sec and then nothing again. I have backed up several disks before without a prob. I have tried with several discs. Maybee it is the movie or the XVI-patch? Plays fine in the DVD-player. Does anyone have a clue?
    Thanks.
    Emil

never heard of traxdata, so I did a search on the
Media forum. While the number isn't staggering,
there are two to three posts that point out suspect media.

I would try re-toasting again at a lower speed,
and see how it acts then. If it still fails,
    try another brand of media.

  4. Thanks guys, I thout I used good media... I went to a well known computer store and this was their "top of the line" DVD-R discs. I'll return them. I'll also check the media forum from now on.

  5. New info: the store guy said that the discs are made by Ritec. Don't know if that makes a difference though.
