    Hi all
    i am new to this post and to this whole video manipulation process, all i want to know what is fastest and simplest way to make a vcd from Xvid file, using as few software as possible
    At the moment i am using VirtualDub, and Goldwave (it takes a long time with this software) for audio compression, TMEG for video compression and finaly burning it with NERO.
    And it takes about 1 and half hour to make a single VCD

    Check out Winavi or better yet DVDsanta. Both are fast one step programs.

    I personally like dvd2svcd (works with tmpgenc and automates the whole process) to do avi conversions but I have heard a lot of people talking about the film machine. Dvd2svcd takes a little effort to set up the program right but once you have it set up it is very easy.
