SmartRipper unlocking

hey everyone... I'm getting a error message during about half into the movie saying there was an error (cyclic redundancy check or something) with DVDShrink and want to try another program to see if it will help. Many people recommend SmartRipper so I was trying it out. But when I load it, it checks to see if its locked or unlocked. One of the files is locked and SmartRipper says to unlock with a player. Can someone tell me what this means? I greatly appreciate the help.
P.S. Anyone have this problem? My burner and the disk is new and unscratched...

means open the dvd with your computer software player and let it run for a few min and then open it with the ripping program. this should solve your problem with shrink.

i tried 2 programs already, windvd and blazer dvd or something. Can someone recommend a program that will unlock it?

You could try PowerDVD. Have you tried to play the movie and then while it is playing rip it.

Also, I would recommend trying DVD Decrypter to rip the movie.
