    Wouldn't this one be better than a 3000+

    AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Clawhammer Processor
    2.2GHz, 1MB, 800MHz FSB, Socket 754

    Or this one, but it has less cache than the Clawhammer

    AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Newcastle Processor
    2.4GHz, 512kB, 1600MHz HTT, Socket 754

    From my understanding, the clawhammer became the Opteron processor which is usually used in servers and is way more expensive.

    The athlon643000+ is basically an fx chip that has been dumbed down a little.

    The major difference is price

    3000+ $160

    3400+ newcastle $233

    3400+ clawhammer $238

    About how fast of a processor do you need to do video capture anyway?

    Many capture cards say 450 MHz P3 minimum

    I had a 650 MHz P3 ... and now I have an AMD 3000+ ... need I say more?
